We are looking for an honest, genuine, dedicated, experienced and hard- working head person to help look after our sports horses and spelling horses.
You will be part of a small team that works to the highest standards and takes a real pride in what they achieve.Duties will include, feeding, mucking out, tacking up, washing down, grooming, tack cleaning, looking after the spelling horses and all other general yard duties.
There is the potential for the right person to help with riding, lunging and handling horses. You'll need to be an experienced rider / handler (experience dealing with young horses, broodmares and fit competition horses is preferred, but not a must) with a teachable attitude and an awesome work ethic.
You must be prepared to be flexible with your hours as we have some early starts and late finishes when we are competing.
You must be happy to use your own initiative at times as you may be working unsupervised. The ability to work in an organised and methodical manner with an eye for detail is essential, as well as being an excellent communicator.
We normally work 08.00 to 17.00 with a lunch break, but horses are not a 9 to 5 job and this post includes working weekends.
We are a small boutique yard and for the right person there will be plenty of opportunities to progress and receive further training as well as the opportunity to groom at competition.
In return for all your hard work we are offering an excellent salary package, that may include bringing your own horse. You will need your own transport as we are not on a bus route and you may have to come to work on short-
notice, or may be required to leave and come back during the day (ie. feeding out mornings and evenings).Preference will be given to people who have had previous experience of working with performance horses.

We are a very small team that works to very high standards. We try to ensure that everyone understands why we do things, from our spelling horses to producing our competition horses that include Watermill Glenneagle who is National 1 day and 3 day champion at 2* as well as show jumping at 1.
40m and Watermmill Hadley who is National 1 day champion at 105 and has had a number of placings show jumping in the 7 yr old classes with Clarke Johnstone.
We offer a 5 day week, and try to ensure that you get every other weekend off. We offer a good rate of pay and are happy to help with additional training.
