Project CoordinatorNational Centre for Research on Europe and European Union Centres NetworkCollege of Arts Parttime 30 hours per week 0 8 FTE Fixed term until 31 October 2020 What You Will Do The National Centre for Research on Europe NCRE and the European Union Centres Network EUCN are jointly seeking a well organised coordinator to effectively manage their work packages and projects You will also plan develop and write funding applications for new projects and efficiently administer financial affairs accounting reports and budgets including liaising with all partner institution and external stakeholders as required You will also implement activities and actions of Grant Agreements with the European Commission EC in conjunction with the EUCN and NCRE Directors and Management Boards Who You Are You will have significant experience in a project support role with exposure to financial analysis and administration in a large organisation preferably in the public sector You will possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office application software packages analysing data and producing reports particularly in MS Excel Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with people are essential You will have wellhoned planning and organisational skills including the ability to cope with competing demands a demonstrated eye for detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy Knowledge of project management methodology and an ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally if required are advantageous Who You Will Work With The College of Arts is academically vibrant and culturally diverse comprising of Aotahi the School of Maori and Indigenous Studies the School of Humanities and Creative Arts and the School of Social and Political Sciences The College has a very broad research base including ten research centres and offers a wide range of undergraduate and post graduate degrees diplomas and certificates In 2020 the NCRE will celebrate its 20th anniversary It was New Zealands first research centre dedicated to studying the European Union and remains one of the AsiaPacifics leading EU Centres of Excellence Currently the NCRE has four UC academic members of staff seven Adjunct Fellows as well as two visiting Summer School lecturers The Centre supervises both Masters and doctoral degrees and typically hosts a graduate cohort of up to twenty students In addition to these formal academic roles the NCRE is also heavily engaged in public diplomacy activities with strong links to the diplomatic community For more information about our team please visit us Why UC The University of Canterbury is committed to promoting a worldclass learning environment through research and teaching excellence and has a vision statement of People Prepared to Make a Difference You will have the opportunity to work alongside members of a diverse academic community and enrich your own professional and personal development View the full Position Description pdf The closing date for this position is Sunday 6 October 2019 midnight NZ time Apply Applications for this position should include a cover letter resume and any additional attachments combined into one document and submitted through the online application process Unfortunately we do not accept applications by email however we are happy to answer your queries in relation to the application process please forward these to WorkatUC canterbury ac nz The University of Canterbury is an EEO employer and actively seeks to meet its obligation under the Treaty of Waitangi
