Based in Greenlane, Tū Māia Youth Forensic Service is a regionally focussed multi-disciplinary team whose primary role is the assessment of children and adolescents involved in the Youth Justice system, preparing formal reports on their mental health needs for the Courts and other agencies, and providing short term therapies and consultation to a small number of young people.
We also provide clinical services to young people in secure residential care, and Court liaison services.
Due to increased demand and growth of the service, we are looking for neuropsychologists to join our team. It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Psychologist.
We are looking for a culturally competent dynamic clinician who has experience in child and adolescent work preferably in the neuropsychology scope and forensic services, and be able to provide comprehensive mental health assessments, deliver effective evidence based treatment strategies for young people who present to the service, and work collaboratively with other team members and other services.
A high standard of report writing is required. Major responsibilities include providing direct clinical neuropsychological assessment services in the clinic, preparing reports and other documents on patient status for referring physicians, and training and supervising predoctoral and / or postdoctoral trainees.
