The opportunity We are continuing to expand our national forensic practice and are seeking a talented, highly motivated and innovative Forensic Analyst / Senior Analyst with experience in the area of investigations, regulatory inquiries and disputes.

This role will be Wellington based. The team The Deloitte Forensic team is highly regarded in New Zealand. Our team comprises forensic accountants, investigators, lawyers, forensic technology experts and data analytics experts.

Our clients trust us to investigate complex, sensitive matters including suspected fraud, bribery and corruption, inappropriate workplace activity and misconduct and support them and legal counsel through the litigation process.

What will your day look like? You will be an integral member of a highly successful, collaborative and multi-disciplinary team with whom you will work closely.

Your role as a Forensic Analyst / Senior Analyst requires you to work closely with clients and others in the team to conduct investigations and provide advice on integrity related matters.

You will develop effective business relationships with clients and exceed our client’s expectations. You will provide them with independent and objective assessment of their brand and reputation by proactively advising on their exposure to fraud, corruption, and other business risk issues.

With access to leading edge technology, you will help clients navigate and resolve a crisis by providing data-driven and insight-enabled mitigation strategies that minimise disruption.

In addition to operational duties, you will work with management to assist in the development of new business proposals. Lets talk about you :

  • You have completed a relevant University Degree.
  • CA, CPA, CFA, CFE, MBA or other equivalent designation (completed or in progress) is a plus.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in investigations, forensic accounting, financial crime advisory, or litigation services in a professional service firm or in industry.
  • Demonstrate a proven technical excellence in order to execute complex forensic projects such as accounting and fraud investigations, counter-fraud advisory, regulatory inquiries and complex business litigation matters.
  • Understanding of forensic tools and technologies, their purpose and functionality, and hands on experience in order to analyse, review, investigate and report.
  • Solves problems objectively using analysis, experience and judgement.
  • Ability to translate business requests into technical requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders in a factual, clear and concise manner, using a variety of methods memorandum, report, oral.
  • Ability to balance multiple client projects and other responsibilities through effective planning, time management, delegation and supervision control.
