Financial Planning and Performing Business Partner

We’re on the look-out for a Financial Planning & Performance Business Partner to come and join our QV team in Auckland. This role working in the finance team has just been internally integrated into QV after being outsourced and is an opportunity for you to use your knowledge, skills and experience to develop the function to a highly efficient, organised and effective Finance function which provides the business with the insights and understanding they are looking for.

About the Role

This role is responsible for running the end-to-end annual budget and periodic forecasting process and delivering an approved budget and forecasts with supporting commentaries.

The role will also analyse and produce reports on the performance of the business for the executive and board, and provide future focused insight to support business decision making.

In this role you will partner with the business to provide the analytical support they require and develop their use of financial information.

It is also responsible for submissions of budgets, forecasts and reports to Treasury.

About You

  • Have the ability and experience to work with minimal supervision to manage the end-to-end process and deliver the Business plan, budget and forecasts.
  • You have experience producing monthly and quarterly management reports providing analysis and commentary on business performance.
  • You think analytically with good problem solving skills, someone who enjoys creatively solving business challenges and is excited at the prospect of directly contributing to the decisions that drive the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to build relationships across business disciplines.
  • Highly competent in the use of Excel and BI tools with the ability to quickly learn new BI tools with ability to develop and modify reports and models.
  • Experience using BI-360 would be advantageous.

  • Strong accounting skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • You will have a collaborative working style and able to jointly solve problems, but must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • You will be a doer, capable of speedily delivering high volumes of quality work, yet also be flexible and able to respond to incoming requests.
  • You will be curious, and keen to learn more, and constantly looking at what’s possible
