    The Finance team provides financial administration support and resources nationally to the Firm.

    The opportunity :

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Firm’s financial and management reporting is carried out in an effective and timely manner.
  • This is a 12-month Fixed Term opportunity.
  • Day to day you will :

  • Produce accurate, timely monthly & annual financial reporting for the KPMG Executive & Board.
  • With the assistance of the accountant, produce and distribute : Monthly & annual financial reporting, monthly management reporting and ad hoc analysis as required
  • Be responsible for budget planning & reporting and prepare resultant monthly standing journals
  • Monitor effectiveness of internal processes and controls, and develop solutions to enhance the effectiveness of the Auckland finance team functions
  • Liaise with internal & external IT service providers to implement system upgrades; review & recommend modifications to custom-built software packages to ensure best-fit solutions are achieved
  • Prepare and file annual income tax returns
  • Prepare work papers for : all KPMG related entities, standing journals & allocations and Balance Sheet Reconciliation.
  • What you'll bring to the team :

  • B.Com in Accounting or equivalent tertiary qualification and / or relevant professional qualification
  • Accounting Experience, minimum 7 years
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Word
  • Experience in a professional services organisation
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to staff with differing levels of expertise and skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to perform to deadlines
  • Strong organisation skills; a self starter with initiative and a common sense approach to problem solving
  • Focus on continuous improvement within the finance function
  • High level of attention to detail
  • The ability to work unsupervised
