About the role

Woolworths New Zealand's successful Primary Freight business is transforming, rebranding to Primary Connect. Primary Connect is a 4PL logistics solution provider that services our vendor community.

A number of newly created key roles are available for energised, enthusiastic individuals able to build on existing relationships with customers, carriers and DC partners, to contribute towards our continued success .

Could you be our new Network Development Manager?

This is a key role to support the growth of our business providing operational transport solutions optimising existing relationships and working with new partners.

Key priorities :

  • To provide transport solutions for primary freight, through the development and implementation of a safe, scalable, integrated transport network
  • Work with carriers, developing optimised network solutions to improve supply chain efficiencies and costs, for supplier partners and Woolworths NZ
  • Own the Primary Connect (PC) carrier relationships, focusing on safety, teamwork and relationship building, both internally with Woolworths NZ stakeholders and externally with our supplier & carrier partners
  • Develop strategic network development of existing carriers
  • Support with transport solutions & provide support in submissions and tender proposals
  • Review solutions to ensure targeted service and financial results are achieved
  • Complete carrier rate conversions documentation.
  • Work with carriers and vendors to maximise fleet capacity, including looking at options for double stacking pallets and HPMV adoption
  • To be considered for this role, your prior experience will likely reflect :

  • Previous experience in a similar Development role
  • Strategic outlook with the ability to think and plan ahead in the medium to long term
  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, collaborating and bringing multiple stakeholders together to align on and execute plans
  • Creative thinking with a can do’ attitude
  • Excellent commercial and analytical acumen
  • High level of influencing and negotiation skills to agree best possible outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills
