Global brand, currently ranked in the top 10 of most desirable employers in NZWe’re looking for a talented and motivated Senior Analyst with strong financial modelling expertise to join our Business Modelling Team within our Corporate Finance practice in Wellington.
Please note that you must have legal NZ work rights and be based in NZ to be considered for this role Key aspects to the role include :
Developing high quality financial analysis, primarily in Excel, but also other platforms such as VBA, data visualisation tools such as Tableau or PowerBI and relevant database languages when appropriate
Attention to detail, curiosity and a passion for problem solving are important, and critically, strong communication skills to develop dashboards, model documentation and to present key analysis insights to senior decision makers
Managing client projects, developing strong business relationships, and delivering outstanding service to a diverse portfolio of clients
Project management skills and inter-personal skills
Responsibility for managing day-to-day interactions with the client and other team members About the team The Corporate Finance Team delivers Transaction Services, M&A and Valuation services and a broad range of Commercial Advisory work.
Our Commercial Advisory work supports public and private sector organisations throughout the entire lifecycle of infrastructure and service delivery projects.
Our modelling team supports clients to develop the financial analysis tools that support strategic decision making, through to project delivery including the provision of commercial, financial and transaction advisory services, infrastructure development, commissioning and contestability, economics and business case development.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you. You are someone with :
Two years financial modelling experience preferably in either a consulting or advisory environment
Developing and reviewing quantitative and qualitative analysis to support decision making
High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in one or more of the following platforms would be advantageous : VBA, PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx, database languages
Strong oral and written communication skills to capture user requirements and prepare model design specifications, user guidance, model documentation;
or to develop analysis to inform a range of client deliverables such as information memoranda, investment / business cases, feasibility analysis or transaction analysis
Attention to detail
Experience in model validation and review processes
Drafting well-structured, evidence based and persuasive reports suitable for a variety of audiences including government and industry
