    The Assets and Services team delivers a broad spectrum of key infrastructural services including Roading, River Control, Drainage, Water, Sewer, storm water, waste management and emergency services across the district.

    As such they are responsible for approximately 70% of Councils spend in operational and capital expenditure. With a large and diverse capital works program based around asset upgrades, the role of Rivers Projects Engineer has the opportunity to be involved in a significant variety of projects in the Rivers & Drainage section of Council whilst being aware of and getting to see the full infrastructure responsibilities of a unitary Council.

    In this role you will become involved in Project Design, Project Management, Construction Monitoring, planning and where necessary emergency response to name a few.

    A key function will be in facilitating consultation between landowners, contractors, and community groups. Therefore, apart from an appropriate Tertiary level Engineering degree, you will bring ideally 5 years of experience with proven capability in strong communication, consultation, and facilitation.

    Your ability to accurately document and report with good detail will be key.

    Given that your work will be based around local authority infrastructure, primarily River control and open channel drainage you will need a background in civil and / or environmental engineering.

    With the works program planned for the district, this will be an exciting time for an engineer wanting to grow their experience and development with the opportunity to be involved in a large cross section of project works.
