An exciting opportunity has arisen to be working for a member of one of NewZealand’s most iconic hardware retail brands Mitre 10.

Grove Mitre 10 is in search of a superstar promotion, marketingand event specialist for our three stores, Mitre 10 Mega Glenfield, Mitre 10 Onehunga and Mitre 10 Browns Bay.

This newly created hands-on role of Promotion & Event Coordinator reports directly to the StoreSupport Manager, while also working closelywith our 3 Store Managers across theGrove Group.

This full time role will be focused on developing andexecuting customer targeted storebased marketing initiatives and events to ensure the local community isengaged with and inspired by the brand, and customerloyalty is driven through direct and digital channels.

Theseinitiatives will be a combination of promotional strategies specific to the Grovestores, along with enhancing those campaigns already developed and implementedby our national Mitre 10 Support Centre on behalf of all members.

You will find yourself organising events, creating contentfor and developing our social media presence, designingand publishing advertisements on the appropriate channels, preparing marketing collateral as required, engagingwith local businesses and organisations, building rapport with suppliers, justto name some of the main accountabilities of therole! This role will suit someone who is self-motivated, organised and with apassion for DIY and home improvement products.

The successful candidate will have the following experienceand attributes

  • A minimum of 12 months’ experience in acommunications, social media, brand or marketing support role
  • Articulate communicator with excellent writtenand verbal presentation skills
  • Enthusiastic personality with the ability to translate ideas into projects and words intoeffective messages
  • A finger on the pulse of key marketing andcommunication trends and experience in tailoring content across multiplechannels and audiences
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently
  • Result driven with the ability to manage a givenbudget
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite and photoshop
  • Medium to advanced knowledge of digitaladvertisement and social media platforms and tools
  • Excellent organisational skills with the abilityto plan and prioritise own workload
  • The role requires some flexibilityin working hours, as well as the ability to work under pressure on multipleprojects and to meet deadlines.

    Salary will be commensurate with experience. The role will operate predominantly from our Glenfield store,with some travel required to the other two stores from time to time.
