The Job

We are currently looking for a motivated individual to lead our Drainage Team based in Central Otago as the Drainage Department Manager.

This a great team environment with good attitude, a great sense of humour and where no job is the same, you will get to see what this amazing region has to offer as you undertake works all around Central Otago.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project cost control, costs forecasting and variations / claim processes
  • Responsibility for managing, leading and developing staff
  • Monitoring and reporting through financial systems to identify risk and opportunity and enhance final results
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly and annual financial reports
  • Use leadership skills to resolve contractual issues;
  • Proactively respond to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations and develop relationships formed on trust;
  • Design innovative commercial models that optimise profit while providing value add / continuous improvement to clients; and
  • Ensure compliance all aspects of Health and Safety, internal process and statutory requirements
  • The Candidate

  • You will need to be practically minded, productive, and take pride in your work around the community. Other requirements / preferences for the role are;
  • NZCE or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to manage quality on site and provide quality assurance documentation
  • A proven record in management that demonstrates effective leadership and communication skills
  • Relevant experience within the drainage and civil industry
  • A 100% commitment to safety
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and machinery involved in the drainage industry
  • Great communication skills
