  • Emerge Aotearoa is a social services organisation providing a range of support services throughout Aotearoa, including mental health, addictions, housing, youth and intellectual disability.

At Emerge Aotearoa, we refer to everyone as whanau. Whanau is often translated as 'family', but its meaning is more complex.

It includes physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions and is based on whakapapa. Whanau can be multi-layered, flexible and dynamic just like our communities and the services we provide.

This is a fantastic opportunity to have a direct impact on the lives of people in the community to help them to reconnect and live as independently as possible.

In between the important mahi we do, there's hot drinks, daily korero.

Sometimes faced with challenging behaviour you'll utilise your calmness and sense of humour to engage and empathise with clients and be quick to think on your feet with how to deal with situations when whanau become unwell and are in need of support.

Being able to demonstrate assertiveness, accountability and compassion for people and encourage them to change is really important in this role.

Do you think you've got what it takes?
