As a proactive Security Consultant you will provide thought leadership and guidance, using your expertise and real-world knowledge of Security frameworks and methodologies to achieve business outcomes for customers.

You are someone that has strong strategic and business , who understands security policy and risk and how it can be applied pragmatically.

You will also provide strategic technology agnostic advice and generate outcomes focused and achievable Information Security roadmaps.

You will be comfortable explaining how business capabilities map to services that in turn improve a customer's overall enterprise wide security posture.

In your role as a trusted advisor you will work collaboratively with other members of the Professional services team responsible for all aspects of Solution Design and you will work with the sales teams promoting Spark services to our customers .

The consultant will be passionate about cybersecurity and the delivery of services-based solutions enabling businesses to understand and manage the growing cyber threat landscape.

WHO YOU REPORT TO

  • You report to the Manager Professional Services South in the Technology Infrastructure tower of our Connect business.
  • WHAT YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Completing security maturity assessments using internationally recognised frameworks e.g. Forrester
  • Performing IT security risk assessments and reporting on ways to minimise business risks
  • Creating, implementing and managing the daily operation and implementation of customers IT security strategy
  • Communicating IT security threats and risk with key business stakeholders
  • Assisting customers with continuous improvement of their IT security practices and systems
  • Staying abreast of latest cyber security trends, technologies and mitigations, providing thought Leadership to clients
  • Leading C-Level presentations where required
  • Championing and educating customers about the latest security strategies, services and technologies
  • Generating and delivering security consulting opportunities such as compliance, policy development or other technical security engagements
  • Building and maintaining contacts and relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities through pre and post sales activities
  • Offering clients insight on compliance and risk frameworks, such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NZISM, etc.
  • Assisting customers to architect and deploy solutions that meet their security requirements
  • Communicating current and emerging security threats and risks relevant to specific customers and their market segment
  • Writing technical proposals, and Statements of Work / Letters of Engagement
  • QA and / or peer review sign off for technical proposals, design documents, and Statements of Work etc
  • Liasing with, monitoring and reporting back on the effectiveness of customers security suppliers
  • Working with customers to ensure that : their business continuity processes and practices are relevant and testedthey have effective processes for the reporting of security incidentsthey have strategies to handle security incidents and trigger investigationsthey are compliant with relevant regulations
  • WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

  • Strong technical and people skills and understanding of all things cyber security and compliance
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently and to think outside the box
  • Proficient knowledge in IT strategic planning, organisational development, and execution
  • Considerable knowledge of business theory, business processes, management, data analysis and business office operations
  • Strong ability to communicate technical solutions to business stakeholders
  • Customer First service orientation and approach
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Cloud security architecture experience
  • Strong understanding of large / complex IT environments with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve difficult problems
  • Possess strong technical understanding of cyber threat actor techniques, tactics, and procedures
  • Executive Level IT management experience
  • Attainment of industry related qualifications or certification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering or relevant field
  • Recognised as an industry expert and thought leader
