Permanent full time Britomart, Auckland Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Senior Manager to join our team! About the role : In this role you are responsible for supporting the Head of Risk, Compliance & Conduct maintain an established and evolving compliance risk and control framework for the Commercial, Agribusiness, Property Finance, Corporate and Institutional Banking business units within WNZL.

You will have outstanding skills in engagement, and have a natural ability to lead, train and influence positive outcomes.

You will actively promote the ongoing development of risk frameworks as well as execute on all related activities. Essentially, you will be the subject matter expert and a point of contact for all matters relating to Risk and Compliance.

Some of the key accountabilities to be successful in this role :

  • Serves as the first line of defence risk management expert providing leadership and meaningful input to ensure risk data is captured, risk mitigation strategies and controls are developed, and appropriate reporting mechanisms are implemented
  • Provision of on-going compliance management support including FAA, FMCA, SOX & CCCFA compliance
  • Engagement as risk adviser with new products and processes
  • AML / CFT exceptions management and business support
  • Overseeing compliance testing and monitoring
  • Support and develop two direct reports, capitalising on experience and training obtained from significant exposure to risk management methodologies and techniques.

    Your well- demonstrated skills, in Risk Management will provide you an opportunity to work within this high-performing team. Skills and experience :

  • Degree and / or recognised Risk Management qualifications
  • Recognised Risk professional as defined by peers / prior roles / references
  • 6+ years’ experience within banking and financial services with a strong understanding of bank processes and policies
  • Confident and persuasive written and verbal communication skills, to engage and influence stakeholders
  • Genuine attention to detail and accuracy
  • Sound knowledge of NZ banking legislation and regulations
  • Risk Advisory and / or law firm focus on regulation, product development, privacy, data protection, etc.
  • People leadership experience of 2+ years
  • General knowledge and understanding of Commercial, Agribusiness, Corporate and Institutional businesses (Preferred).
