The OpportunityThis is a newly created opportunity based within our Line 2 Regulatory Change team reporting to the Head of Regulatory Change.

The Regulatory Change Lead is responsible for supporting initiatives to implement regulatory change across impacted areas of ASB.

This role will undertake a leadership role in cross-functional Programmes for implementing regulatory change and will be responsible for identifying and understanding the business implications of regulatory change, as ASB navigates the banking industry's dynamic compliance landscape.

The role is central to providing our business with insightful regulatory interpretation and guidance to support compliance and to ensure regulatory outcomes remain within ASB's risk appetite and a strong risk culture is maintained.

The Regulatory Change Lead will need to have the skill and confidence to be able to liaise with regulators and both internal and external auditors as well as with ASB's Legal Services and Regulatory Affairs teams.

  • This role will also be required to represent ASB at industry forums. We are interested in hearing from people who have the following experience : Prior experience within Financial Services, ideally in a Regulatory Risk or Compliance role;
  • Strong understanding of New Zealand banking laws and regulations;Highly developed stakeholder management skills with confidence and credibility to engage effectively with, and influence stakeholders across the business;
  • Excellent collaboration and communications skills with experience influencing and driving change;Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex technical information to non-

    subject matter experts;Ability to exercise sound judgment and demonstrate pragmatic problem solving skills;Proven leadership experience with a track record of leading from the front by displaying a positive attitude, high integrity and empathy towards your team and broader stakeholders.

    Success in this role will be demonstrated by the proven ability to work effectively within a changing environment, with a pragmatic and collaborative approach to enable the business to understand, proactively manage and optimise their compliance obligations.
