The Cancer Services : Psychology and Social Work Team has aO.5 (FTE) vacancy for a Social Worker. This service provides support to people from high suspicion of cancer,through diagnosis to the end of active cancer treatment.
You willprovide purposeful social work assessments and interventions with adults andtheir family / whanau across in-patient, out-patient and community settings.
The successful candidatewill be client-centred in their approach and have good counselling skills. Experience in a hospital inpatient settingand / or community social work experience is preferable.
This is a demanding roleworking with patients and family / whanau from diverse cultural backgroundsacross grief and loss issues, acute and chronic illness, complex problemsolving and risk assessment.
You will bean effective communicator and a key member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
You should hold abachelor of Social Work degree and be registered with the New Zealand SWRB.ANZASW membership is preferred.
