MIDCENTRAL DISTRICT HEALTH BOARD (Scope of Practice - Registered Nurse) We currently have positions within our community mental health team based on the Palmerston North Hospital campus.

These require registered nurses who wish to work within a busy multi disciplinary team that actively promotes recovery focused care within a clinical governance framework.

Applicants will need to provide evidence of having proficient skills, up to date knowledge and experience in working with mental health consumers.

MidCentral District Health Board is committed to ensuring that children and young people are safe from abuse and harm. As part of our commitment to children and young people, and in line with the Vulnerable Children Act 2014, appointment to positions that involve regular or overnight contact with children will include worker safety checks.

These checks are in addition to the requirement to have a satisfactory police clearance. Further information will be provided to shortlisted candidates.

General Information

MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.

Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000.

In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.

Palmerston North is a major university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North Island ski fields, and river adventures.

Wellington the capital city, is only a two hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
