    The Community Facilities department is committed to making great places Aucklanders love while supporting a number of related services such as asset management and renewals of existing buildings and structures.

    Committed to a lifecycle approach to asset management, we work to build, maintain and renew our world class community buildings and public spaces including parks, walkways, libraries and leisure centres.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a project manager who will deliver projects and programmes of work to achieve building resilience in particular seismic strengthening which will include managing technical assessments of our building portfolio and subsequent renewal and remediation projects.

    Your responsibilities will include :

  • End to end management and delivery of assigned projects and programmes in accordance with Auckland Council policy, frameworks and procedures and industry best practice
  • Engaging with other teams during project inception to provide technical advice
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate project records, including a project execution plan, financial and timeline plans
  • Managing project budgets well and ensuring projects follow predicted business case pathway
  • Managing consultants and contractors, and maintain effective relationships with business owners, customers and project stakeholders
  • He kōrero mōu : About you

    Alongside a relevant degree or tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, construction or architecture), you’ll have 3+ years proven experience in capital works project delivery, including renewals projects.

    You’ll need to be able to listen and understand while also being able to think for yourself. You’ll have the ability to make decisions on the spot, be pragmatic with political nous and have strong collaboration skills.

    You are a strong communicator, with advanced stakeholder management skills with an ability to build rapport with a wide range of people, including contractors and customers.

    You will be required to have a valid NZ driver's licence due to the nature of the position where you will be required to regularly travel to various Community Facility sites across the Auckland region.
