We are looking for First Responder Volunteers to join the Ohakune team in providing an invaluable service to the community.
Volunteering with St John is a commitment, but one which is immensely rewarding. In return for the time you invest in us and in your community, we offer you NZQA recognised training from the leading provider of pre-
hospital emergency care in the country!
We are in need of to work alongside both paid and volunteer staff. First Responders are trained and equipped to the same high standard as frontline ambulance officers, but unlike the current opportunities that ask volunteers to commit to a full 12 hour shift, First Response Units will be deployed in the local community and are not required to transport patients to hospital meaning that the time commitment for volunteers is significantly less.
St John will provide successful volunteers with training to First Responder level; all volunteers do have the opportunity to later apply to progress toward gaining their National Diploma in Ambulance.
