    Our Urban Planning and Design group provides strategic leadership on urban planning, provides best practice urban design and planning advice, leads the management of Kāinga Ora's large scale strategic partnerships and works closely with place based groups, iwi, local and central government agencies and the private sector to facilitate urban development opportunities.

    Ko tā mātou mahi Our Role

    As part of our exciting growth we are now looking to welcome 2x Advisor Urban Design Panels to our Urban Design Panel Team, to contribute to ensuring design review processes are efficient, effective, consistent and transparent, and to be responsible for the day to day running of the Design Review Panels and Technical Advisory Groups.

    This includes developing, maintaining and improving processes and procedures to enable the smooth and professional running of these reviews.

    Day-to-day you will be liaise with a wide range of stakeholders including panelists, architects, developers, internal teams and more.

    You will coordinate and attend panel meetings, and manage a variety of administrative tasks including reporting, contributing to educational events etc.

    As our ideal candidate you are known as an organisational superstar and you have worked in interdisciplinary teams. In terms of personality, in order to fit right in with our team, you will bring intrinsic motivation, positivity and a sense of fun to the workplace and you are eager to learn.

    In addition to your relevant tertiary qualification you will demonstrate :

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Experience in prioritising demands, meeting deadlines and delivering desired results
  • Attention to detail and self-management
  • The ability to clearly and concisely convey information and ideas in both oral and written communication
  • Proactive, customer centric approach and ability to work independently
  • A high degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Oracle, Basecamp, Objective)
  • Some knowledge of urban design principles and the New Zealand planning system.
