    The challenge for the Sustainability team is to understand the dynamic and multifaceted nature of our business, whilst creating a future vision that is compatible to Auckland's sustainability

    The role :

    This is a key role for AT, translating technical expertise into successful initiatives to improve social outcomes and reduce environmental impact from AT's operations and the wider transport system.

    We need someone who can lead development of pragmatic and effective sustainability initiatives, draw on technical knowledge to provide specialist support to the rest of the business, track progress, write great reports and win the trust of key stakeholders.

    We will be looking for best practice initiatives and experience in policy and practice.

    We need :

  • Strong technical experience in the sustainability field - for example in sustainable procurement approaches or carbon accounting - related to transport and / or similar capital-intensive industries or corporates
  • The ability to translate technical expertise into practical initiatives and influential advice
  • Strong communication skills to be able to provide high quality and timely strategic sustainability advice.
  • Effective influencing skills and the ability to work with a range of technical disciples across a business like AT
  • Ideally a good understanding and knowledge of transport planning and systems, council practices and constraints in Auckland or the desire and capability to learn this content.
  • Areas of speciality could include infrastructure sustainability, low emission transport and water quality
