Role :

We have the opportunity to have you join our Engineering team! Do you take pride in your work and love a challenge? Then this is the role for you, an all round role which assists with the entire hotel and its up keep / day to day maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of the maintenance requirements of the hotel including Pool, spa and water feature pump and motors, automatic chemical dispensers, VSD motors and control, Saflok electronic door lock, Storm water and sewerage pump and controls, Chillers and air handling units and control, and TV system.
  • Complete daily plant rounds and note for repair any equipment that may appear or sound faulty.
  • Carry out maintenance on mechanical equipment and water reticulation to ensure acceptable availability and reliability.
  • Assist in the keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment
  • On completion of daily rounds sign off any relevant section of the Maintenance Manuals.
  • Liaise with the appropriate manager regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out of order areas of the hotel are brought back into use as soon as possible.
  • Complete all tasks where possible within a 15-20 minute time frame of receiving the request
  • Report back to the Manager on Duty or Front Office the completion or delay, of any task that is guest related.
  • Suggest any improvements that could be made to improve existing service or procedures, log and inform the Department Manager of any service or system problems.
  • Work Experience

  • 1 years’ previous experience in a similar role including 5 star experience is preferred but not required
  • Designated trade behind you is highly advantageous
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office applications
  • Projects professional image at all times through personal presentation / interpersonal skills
  • Initiates contacts and establishes rapport easily
  • Asserts point of view directly yet tactfully
  • Organises time and work efficiently
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
