The Whakatane Libraries and Lifelong Learning Activity is seeking a committed public programmes professional to lead the delivery of customer engagement and learning experiences throughout the Whakatane District.

To be successful, you will be a confident leader with a flair for empowering and engaging people of all ages and from all backgrounds, in the context of our outstanding library, heritage and art gallery facilities.

Key requirements include :

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
  • Proven experience in people management
  • Extensive local government, state sector or relevant business experience
  • A recognised tertiary qualification in library science, business management, or education
  • Experience in the conversion of business plans into successful service delivery outcomes
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships and influence positive learning outcomes is essential, as is an awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the wider local and national political context.
