What we do

We’re looking for a NZ Registered Physiotherapistto join us in the Intensive Care Unit and the Medical Respiratory wards as partof our Cardiorespiratory and Surgical cluster in Christchurch Hospital.

This opportunity will see you working in andhelping to develop the service in ICU whilst supporting junior staff and theupskilling of staff for afterhours work.

As part of our Cardiorespiratory and Surgical Cluster, you will alsowork with patients across the clinical specialities of Medical Respiratory,Cardiology, Cardiothoracics, Vascular and the Surgical Progressive Unit.

We currently have the following opportunitiesavailable :

  • Fixed-term covering parental leave within ICU (0.4FTE, 24hours / week) until approximately January 2022
  • Permanent opportunity working alternate Sundays inICU (8hrs / fortnight)

    The Role : Where you fit in

    In this role, you will be responsible for :

  • Undertaking expert assessments, completing appropriate interventions and providing advice or referring to other services;
  • Supervising and mentoring rotational staff and final year physiotherapy students;
  • Helping to facilitate service improvements.
  • Your skills will include :

  • A broad range of experience, ideally including, respiratory, surgery, cardiology and critical care;
  • The ability to work collaboratively across the multi-disciplinary team;
  • Enthusiastic and confident in sharing your knowledge across your discipline;
  • A working knowledge of quality improvement processes.
