Due to sustained growth in several exciting areas of our business and our strong involvement in a wide variety of projects across NZ we are currently seeking senior level Infrastructure Engineering Specialists and Civil Design Managers with a positive, proactive attitude to join our Auckland office.

You will be an integral part of our local civil / project delivery team and support our national Sector Directors to strengthen our position as project leaders on large infrastructure projects.

You will provide leadership, technical and pastoral care, to the team in Wellington and throughout New Zealand. You will provide inputs to programme governance, business development, marketing and capacity building across Australasia and the Pacific region.

You will provide technical input on wider company projects relevant to your area of expertise, including general support for projects in other T+T offices in Australasia.

The Role :

The role is to provide a leading contribution to Tonkin + Taylor, primarily in the specialist areas of civil infrastructure design and design management on a wide range of projects and clients.

  • Work on and lead a wide range of exciting projects that involve all aspects of civil infrastructure design.
  • Manage multi-discipline teams and sub-consultants to deliver complex civil infrastructure projects.
  • Undertake business development and fostering client relationships
  • Implementing and carrying out project controls including financial tracking and earned value reporting, programming and tracking progress of projects, risk management and the development of project specific processes and controls
  • Management and delivery of design packages for transport, energy, waste, commercial and water infrastructure projects.
  • Delivery of large complex projects in respect to quality, risk, programme, delivery and financial performance.
  • Technical leadership, mentoring and supporting development of other staff
  • Interfacing and co-ordinating outcomes from related disciplines such as geology, hydrology, structural, geotechnical engineering and contaminated land together with key stakeholders such as regulatory bodies and also assisting client relationship building.
  • About You :

  • 15+ years industry experience in the civil engineering industry
  • Previous experience in a consulting environment
  • Strong client relationships and knowledge of our industry
  • Proven report writing capability
  • Chartered Engineering Professional
  • Experienced and capable public speaker with experience in presenting at conferences and industry events
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in negotiating significant professional services contracts
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • An innovative and collaborative approach
