Auckland City, AucklandThe Ghella Abergeldie Joint Venture is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team on the Central Interceptor Project.
The Central Interceptor is New Zealand’s largest ever Wastewater Project consisting of close to 20km of tunnels, more than 17 shafts, a major pump station and substantial wastewater management and network infrastructure works.
Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will assist the QS department with the administration of subcontract packages, budget and cost control management, as well as the measurement of quantities for the Central Interceptor Project.
What you will be doing : Preparation of bills of quantities and estimates to justify the JV’s quantum entitlementMaintain registers of variations / change management / insurance claimsMeasurement of progress and reporting on performance against budgetMeasurement of the effectiveness of alternative optionsAssist the sustainability team with the determination of ISCA credits by measuring and tracking materials and energy consumptionMonitor and ensure subcontractor, supplier and consultant complies with contractual terms and conditionsPreparation of subcontractor correspondence and variation noticesAssist the construction team in coordinating daily activities on siteMeasurement and certification of progress paymentsReconciliation, settlement and close out of final accountThe successful candidate will have : Degree Qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalentQS experience in the NZ marketExperience working with utility services on large civil infrastructure projectsExpertise in measurement and take off’sProduce work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailSound commercial acumenPositive and pro-active approach toward teamworkExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work under pressure, determine priorities and meet strict deadlinesYou’ll be a top performer - able to work under pressure in a fully integrated team environment.
