The opportunity :

  • Our business advisors in Private Enterprise help privately owned businesses reach their goals. Our clients range from subsidiaries of international companies to privately owned New Zealand businesses.
  • From family trusts and high net worth individuals, Government and local government entities, to retail / manufacturers / import distributors and personal investment portfolios.

  • We are a small team of dedicated specialists working with businesses making their most important decisions. Our focus is on delivering business strategy and performance improvement services that will contribute to the sustainable growth and success of private businesses.
  • The senior leaders within our team are responsible for driving the performance of the team, managing and delivery business advisory engagements, and thought leadership.
  • We operate a diverse, fun and varied working environment where lateral thinking, sharp commercial acumen, and confidence working with ambiguity in a fast-paced manner will stand you in good stead.
  • No 2 days are the same!

    Day to day you will :

  • Work largely with clients in the $5-20million turnover range (sometimes up to $100mill plus) across a range of sectors
  • Provide commercial and strategic advice to business leaders, senior managers, directors and owners
  • Facilitate workshops with clients
  • Deliver, manage and support team members in the successful delivery of business advisory engagements
  • Conduct analysis to identify issues, form hypotheses and suggest solutions;
  • Prepare insightful presentations to communicate findings to clients and motivate change;
  • Undertake business development activities to win new clients and engagements.
  • Leverage business network to develop opportunities for new engagements
  • Provide people and operational leadership to the team
  • What you'll bring to our team :

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Ideally 5+ years’ relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen
  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, well-structured presentation writing skills, interpersonal skills and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience applying strategic planning and structured thinking conceptual models
  • People management experience
  • Understanding and experience in any of the following will be advantageous : Strategy, Finance, Accounting, Design Thinking, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business Process Improvement, Project Management, Management Consulting, Export Planning and Activation.
  • Medium to advanced Excel financial modelling and / or quantitative analysis skills
  • Proposal-writing experience
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills
  • A passion for helping private businesses to grow, an ability to engage productively with senior business leaders, a strong achievement drive, an ability to grasp new concepts quickly.
