  • We are looking for a Transport Asset Manager to join our client, a large local authority in the Wellington region, in an exciting role to lead a team of Transport Asset Managers towards achieving the Transport Network outcomes.

    The Transport and infrastructure business unit provides roading, traffic, and transportation services . The Unit's role is to ensure that :

  • The infrastructure assets and long-term interests are professionally and properly planned, managed and developed.
  • All required asset information and advice is available for informed decision making.
  • Works and services contracts and project activities for the maintenance, upgrade, refurbishment and development of infrastructure assets to meet the required quality standards.
  • To be successful in this role you will need :

  • Min 10 years experience in a similar role
  • To be an NZ Charted Engineer or equivalent
  • Proven leadership and management skills
  • Thorough knowledge and hands on experience in Asset Management and Contracts Management
  • Planning and implementing roading construction, maintenance and related Transport services experience
  • Legislative framework including the Local Government Act, Resource Management Act, Transit Act and the Land Transport Act as it relates to the transport portfolio
  • Relationship Management
  • Project and asset management experience
  • And of course, developing and maintain relationships, both internally and with external service providers and, of course in adopting a big picture’ approach to making it work.

    This is a job that will require a proven manager of people, a relationship developer who can not only think on the run, but can see the big picture and who wants to improve things for the future.
