About the role
The Aviation Security and Infrastructure Group within the C AA are seeking an experienced leader on a permanent basis to support the delivery of better security regulatory outcomes and safe and secure skies.
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Aviation Security and Infrastructure, and part of the group leadership team, this role is responsible for providing regulatory security oversight of organisations that operate within the aviation system, including ensuring compliance with Civil Aviation Rules.
Leading a team of 5, you’ll work to ensure accurate and ongoing monitoring and compliance of organisations, and will contribute to the design, implementation and evaluation of regulatory interventions intended to address new, emerging and existing security risks.
As a senior leader in the organisation, the successful candidate will play a key part helping to build, change and embed our organisational culture and way of working for the better.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone to join our organisation who has an in-depth understanding of government processes and the roles and responsibilities of a regulatory agency.
You don’t need to be an aviation expert for this role but you will have the ability to quickly form effective relationships with key security stakeholders in the aviation sector and develop an understanding of the New Zealand aviation system.
Your analytical, stakeholder management, and influencing skills will be critical to your success in this position. You’ll be people focused with a passion for developing your team and being an empowering and motivating leader.
