About the role :

As a Public Transport Planner, you will demonstrate experience and capability to support the Senior Planner to manage a complex portfolio of bus (and ferry) services, working with bus companies and internal and external stakeholders, along with a wide and varied experience of a range of community consultations, data analysis and qualitative and quantitative research tools.

You would need to be able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to analysing data trends and applying this to a story to design a better and improved service(s).

Monitoring and analysing data trends in public transport service performance, travel times, and patronage at a network and service level is a big part of this exciting role.

You bring a proven track record in working with data, service design documentation using approved software applications and you are able to interpret and analyse data using the GW framework.

A keen team player and a passionate and excited individual in resolving issues. Your communication in emails, on the phone & face to face is clear, concise and to the point.

Skills and experience required :

  • A tertiary qualification, preferably in transport planning, geography and / or data analysis
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Highly capable analytical and problem solving skills
  • Data analysis experience
  • Experience working with stakeholders and customers and able to build positive relationships both internally and externally
  • Experience or an understanding of central or local government or experience with public transport would be an advantage.
