  • About the Role :

    As a category manager for Metrix you will play an important role in the success of our business, you will keep the customer in mind every step of the way and help drive sales and maximise profits.

    In this role you will be dealing with international brands and businesses that are highly recognisable both overseas and in NZ.

    But you actually don’t really need to know the products right off the bat, what we need is someone who understands what category management is all about with good experience in understanding the market, demand planning, trends, bringing products to market etc...

    You’ll succeed in this role because

    You’re analytical, comfortable forecasting and working with a wide range of data to make fact-based decisions, with a background in category management, you’re able to translate plans into actions.

    You’re results-orientated and entrepreneurial. You can develop strategies based on real world insight, and your communication skills mean others will both share and work to apply your vision.

    You are also able to develop and maintain strong and strategic relationships with suppliers.

    Essential Requirements :

  • Proven business partnering experience, managing and building relationships across all levels of the organisation and stakeholders
  • Highly developed skillset in data analysis, including working with Excel for data interpretation to develop sound strategies
  • Proven track record in Category Management and managing major accounts
  • Tertiary qualification in a business discipline preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage and develop a direct report
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • The successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment medical and drug test prior to the commencement of employment.
