About the role

This new and exciting opportunity has arisen that will be based in our Penrose Head Office.

The National Trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training to our teams to ensure the continuous improve of their health, safety and wellbeing and operational capability.

Using relevant industry skills and experience in particular knowledge of health and safety to create and deliver integrated training programs and support the overall training process across HRV in New Zealand.

The role will collaborate with our internal experts to develop fit for purpose content and determining optimal methods of delivery - either for purposes of delivery or ongoing competency assessment in the field.

Who we are looking for :

We are looking for someone who will understand the gaps between current and preferred practice and will coach for change, update existing training or develop new training, using a variety of tools including digital training tools and practical delivery methods.

In addition, the following requirements will be required to be successful :

  • Develop integrated operational and HSE training courses.
  • Develop training and assessment programs.
  • Deliver essential HSE and Operational training to front line staff which could include sales, operations, contractors, customer service centre and supply chain staff.
  • Deliver training as a blended approach and ensure it is aligned to the objectives and culture of HRV.
  • Analyse existing tasks and procedures and provide a simple, effective training solution.
  • Utilise industry training providers and suppliers where appropriate.
  • Use instructional design principles to maintain and build on internal HRV learning platforms.
  • Foster and maintain working relationships with people leaders and external service providers.
  • Experience required :

  • Industry experience either in heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration systems or electrical trades.
  • Certificate of Adult Education or accredited training qualification.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a full-time training role preferred.
  • Good understanding of occupational health and safety theory and practice, a NEBOSH Certificate or similar is desirable.
  • Articulate with an exemplar ability to influence, coach and educate.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement training programmes across a small to medium enterprise.
  • Experience developing and implementing health and safety strategies policies and programmes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage the expectation of customers to achieve successful HRV outcomes. Experience of technical training and assessing is desirable.
