healthAlliance is one of New Zealand’s largest shared services providers. We support the four Northern Region District Health Boards (DHB’s) with technology shared services.

We are hiring for the position of Technical Applications Consultant and your work will include operational overview of the design, covering frontend, backend and middleware integration layer’s that supports interoperability between the key hospital systems.

Technology plays a significant role in the delivery of quality healthcare services and improving patient experiences. We work in collaboration with the DHBs to support their extensive ICT enterprise and to safely accelerate their digital transformation journey improving the way health information is shared across the region to support better patient care.

What you can expect

  • As a Technical Application Consultants in our small but high performing team, you will deliver technical solutions and outcomes, as well as completing service requests and resolving incidents and problems
  • Your work will include operational overview of the design, covering frontend, backend and middleware integration layer’s that supports interoperability between the key hospital systems
  • This role will require you to collaborate with other technical teams and have a strong sense of ownership to ensure that issues are resolved promptly
  • You will be implementing and testing changes through our development, test and production instances and will be part of managing the administration and operational health of those environments
  • To achieve this, you must be able to build your knowledge and understanding of applications end-to-end
  • You must be a collaborative team player, ready and willing to share knowledge and go the extra mile for your team and customers.

    Some experience in technical leadership and mentoring or coaching is preferred

  • Software specific configuration
  • Database Microsoft SQL administration
  • Implementing software releases
  • Environment monitoring and Troubleshooting
  • Application Management - end to end
  • IT infrastructure technologies (Microsoft Stack)
  • ITIL service delivery framework
  • Technical leadership with strong analytical and problem solving & management ability
  • Delivering integrated application solutions and functionality

    This requirement results from healthAlliance being a provider of services to the health sector, meaning that many of our staff interact closely with staff from (and at) DHBS.

    Further, in the event of incidents and emergencies, our Connect building must be available for DHB staff to use as a backup site.

    As a result, all of our staff are required to be vaccinated against COVID 19 under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021.
