We also provide contractingservices to our partners other network owners and operators across the NorthIsland.

We have over1,300 staff working together across 13 locations to keep the power on and thelights going for our customers.

To support the increased workload,an exciting opportunity has become available for a GraduateDesign Estimator to join our Whangarei Projects team.

You will be workingacross a large and diverse range of projects for our Network client and theircustomers.

You’ll be going onsite to meet with customers to discuss theirrequirements to scope, design and price these projects and ensure theappropriate standards, safety and regulations are met.

The role

Asa Graduate Design Estimator, you’ll be providing exceptional customer serviceto our current and potential clients at all times, face to face and throughemail and phone communication.

Reporting to the Senior Design Estimator, youwill be working in a fast-paced environment and :

  • Be responsible for design, pricing, planning and tender preparation for projects in the electrical distribution sector
  • Assess, develop and implement the most cost effective and efficient methodology and procedures; without compromising safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Liaise with the project delivery team to ensure that they are fully aware of the scoped work requirements
  • Identify potential problems and / or delays and communicate proactively to clients and customers
  • Update our computer systems at all stages of design / quote process with key information
  • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships with internal and external customers

    If you have some experience working in the electricity sector, thiswould be the perfect opportunity for you to get your foot into the door’ andwork for a leading utilities business.

    You will be a natural communicator and enjoy liaising with multiplepeople and departments, and juggling with multiple tasks comes naturally to you.You’ll also have :

  • A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering Qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of electricity distribution network and electricity regulations
  • Previous experience in electrical design and estimating (preferable)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Great computer skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Knowledge of working on a customer management system like JDE (preferable not essential)
