We are on the lookout for a couple of roles within our department including grit truck driver, senior roads crew right through to roads team leader.

About the role

  • You will be involved in leading the team to manage road conditions to provide safe access for our staff and guests. This will involve but is not limited to the following
  • Safely direct traffic during a snow event
  • Meet and greet out guests travelling up our access road and advise of the current road conditions and chain calls
  • Assist our guests with fitting chains in all weather conditions
  • Monitor and report road conditions to ski area management
  • Deliver exceptional service and leadership to our guests and staff
  • Patrol the road and respond to guest queries
  • Assist with a range of other duties around the mountain
  • Loading and spreading grit on an open road whilst negotiating two way traffic safely
  • About You

  • A proven commitment to the overall guest experience and the ability to work under pressure in a team environment
  • A positive personality and the ability to keep an upbeat attitude no matter the weather
  • You must be comfortable working in an alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions
  • You need to be physically fit, have outgoing personalities and high levels of energy
  • Not afraid of getting your hands dirty
  • You must be health & safety conscious and a good record in this area
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • Punctual, flexible, and reliable
  • Ability to organise yourself
  • Mechanical experience is not required, but a practical mechanical aptitude would be an advantage
  • An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
  • Skills and Qualifications

  • NZ issued driving license is essential and for some positions a class 2 license would also be required. Proven light vehicle, heavy machinery and / or, experience driving on snow and ice would all be considered an advantage
