  • Are you an experienced ministerial advice analyst looking to take a step towards a career in management? DIA is looking for a senior policy analyst to join its ministerial advice team.

    The team is one of the main interfaces with Ministers offices and manages a high workload across seven Ministerial portfolios.

    The team is responsible for :

  • Preparing briefings and speeches for Ministers on a wide range of issues;
  • Preparing responses to ministerial correspondence, Parliamentary questions and Official Information Act requests; and
  • Liaise with Ministers offices and other teams across the branch and Department.
  • We are looking for an experienced person who can manage more complex work and provide high quality peer review and feedback to less experienced colleagues.

    The senior analysts in the team operate as leadership team and have responsibility for coaching and mentoring the analysts and graduate analysts.

    You will need :

  • Experience in drafting high quality responses to ministerial correspondence, Parliamentary Questions, OIA requests and briefings to support ministers at meetings
  • Strong relationship skills and the ability to work at all levels of the organisation and with ministers offices
  • Ability to coach and mentor staff and help them grow and develop in their roles.
