Reporting operationally to Commercial Manager Sofrana ANL in Auckland and functionally to the Cargo Services Manager based in the Melbourne office, the Operations Manager will have the following responsibilities -
Plan and co-ordinate cost effective cargo stowage and utilization of vessels to ensure all safety requirements are met and manage day to day operations.
Plan and issue schedules of vessels engaged in designated trades in order to optimize asset utilization.
Coordinate and provide technical and cost assistance in the carriage of hazardous, break bulk, over dimensional and awkward cargo, to ensure costs are minimised, Sofrana ANL exposure to risk is minimised and statutory requirements are met.
Pursue operational efficiency and cost saving through continuous improvement
Schedule maintenance of the services with Joint Venture partners.
The successful applicant will have the following attributes -
Australian citizenship or permanent residence
Level 7 Graduate Certificate in Shipping Management.
3-day Ship Planning and Stability course
Over 3 weeks sea time as supercargo.
Functional knowledge of basic LISA schedule maintenance.
Cargo stowage planning of feeder sized container vessels carrying mixed cargo of containers and breakbulk.
Proficiency in use of planning tools (MACS3 preferred)
