KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES KAWENGA TAKOHANGA
To ensure that all analytical tests, methods and validation procedures, records and test results are completed as required by Laboratory's Quality Systems Manuals.
To carry out routine tests within the required time frames and within employment contract work time agreements.
To train other staff where appropriate.
To ensure the maintenance of equipment for the Laboratory and ensure their smooth and safe operation. To complete Laboratory housekeeping tasks as required.
To ensure the Customer satisfaction is assured in the most effective, efficient and courteous way.
To prepare for and participate in Cawthron's performance management process and the Laboratory's regular review meetings.
To participate in training and professional development as identified in the review meetings so that best practices are applied.
To encourage active communication and listening within the Laboratory and Cawthron.
To carry out all work, and to behave at all times within the Cawthron employment contract confidentiality agreement.
To care for and maintain Laboratory equipment, property, and consumables up to agreed standards.
To communicate clearly with other team members
To enter information on computer system

PERSON SPECIFICATION PŪKENGA Ā-TANGATA
BSc or equivalent (e.g. Diploma in Science level 6)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory environment
Experience with microbiology laboratory quality systems
Experience with microbiology laboratory techniques including media preparation, sample preparation, sample testing, reading / entry of results for routine microbiology and GMP accredited testing services.
Ability to use balances, pipettes, and laboratory tools
Ability to remain focused, consistent, and efficient
Attention to detail
Willingness to complete hands-on routine tasks
For staff that work in or with contaminated freshwater or seawater Vaccinated, or willingness to be vaccinated, against Hepatitis B (Engerix), Hepatitis A (Havrix), Hepatitis A & B (Twinrix), Poliomyelitis, and Tetanus / Diptheria every ten years.
