About this position This is an opportunity for experienced person who has passion for great food.It is a full-time position with competitive remuneration.
To succeed in this position, you will be hired to take full charge of our kitchen and you will need to have in good culinary skills complimented with kitchen management, menu development, and familiarity with NZ food safety requirements.
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting dishes with daily preparation, menu development and food cost controls, ordering and managing stock, monitor the quality of dishes, training other kitchen staff where necessary, maintaining compliance standards, and handling customer complaints.
Skills and Experience Required : A qualification in cookery or similarAt least two years of experience as a chef in a sizable commercial kitchenAble to multitask with great time management skills and attention to detailsHaving experience with menu costing, budgeting and executing recipesAble to develop a system and control mechanism for managing and maintaining the commercial kitchenExquisite presentation, efficient, confident and professionalCreative, resourceful and have natural passionOpen minded, approachable, humble and collaborative Able to prepare dishes off a menu of Western / Korean mix styleHave some prior exposure to prepare Korean style dishes as we have small number of dishes requiring Korean ingredients and dressing to completeHave a current food safety certificateAble to work independently to take sole charge of kitchenCapable of working flexible hours and handling pressureBe punctual and able to work flexible hours over seven days between 7 : 30 and 15 : 30 Monday to Friday and 8 : 00 and 15 : 30 on Saturday, Sunday.
