About the Role

We are seeking a Fisheries Liaison Coordinator to join our fast paced and passionate Marine Species Team where you will coordinate the implementation and delivery of the Conservation Services Programme- Protected Species Liaison Project.

Reporting to the Marine Species Manager, you will be responsible for :

  • Coordinating and overseeing the project including contract management of fisher liaison officers
  • Organising the procurement and provision of mitigation equipment to liaison officers and fishers
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collating data and information to produce quarterly and annual progress reporting
  • Contributing ideas on programme improvement
  • This is a full time (40 hours) and 2 years fixed term opportunity.

    We want to hear from you if you have the following :

  • Previous track record in programme, project planning and coordination as well as contract management skills.
  • Experience in handling data, preparing reports and presentations for a multiple of audiences.
  • An understanding of commercial fisheries and fisheries bycatch.
  • An understanding of bycatch mitigation devices, their function, and uses in commercial fishing
  • An ability to build and maintain professional relationships across multiple stakeholders and sectors.
  • Excellent influencing and conflict management skills.
  • Tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience in marine conservation or fisheries management is desirable.
