Ko tā te tīma, Te Pae Huarewa, he tautoko i te Pou Mataaho o Te Pae Huarewa ki te hautū i te rautaki e kīia ana ko Te Arataki.

He mema te Pou Mataaho nei o te Tīma Hautū a te Manatū, o Te Kāhui Mataaho, e tāpae ana i te kupu ārahi rautaki, e kawea ai a ngāi Māori, te Tiriti, ngā toi, ngā kaupapa here mō te ahurea me ngā taonga tuku iho, te āhua o te whakatinana me te whakahaere putanga.

Kōrero mō te tūranga About the role

Te Pae Huarewa team supports the Pou Mataaho o Te Pae Huarewa, Deputy Chief Executive Māori to lead the Te Arataki strategy (attached to Position Description).

The Pou Mataaho o Te Pae Huarewa is a member of the Ministry Leadership Team delivering strategic advice, influencing Māori, Treaty, arts, culture and heritage policy, delivery and operational outcomes.

The team is responsible for ensuring Māori culture is integral to the way we operate, building knowledge in our people to confidently apply a Māori lens to their work.

As Manatū Taonga regularly collaborates with others to achieve greater impact, the Te Pae Huarewa team work to establish partnerships that deliver results.

Kōrero mōu About you

We are looking for a talented individual, with excellent relationship management and communication skills. You will be passionate about Te Ao Māori with strong knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Ideally you will have a high degree of experience of Te Ao Māori, and skills in te reo Māori and tikanga Māori.

You will be used to working effectively with iwi / Māori stakeholders to achieve shared goals and have a good understanding of crown-Māori relationships.

You will also be able to effectively engage with non-Māori in order to pursue iwi and Māori aspirations.

You will be an excellent communicator, motivated by mentoring and coaching both your peers and colleagues, supporting the development of cultural capability in Te Ao Māori.
