The Energy Efficiency Engineer is accountable, through the Automation Manager, for advising the organisation on energy related issues, identifying opportunities and implementing plans to improve energy efficiency and reduce utility usage, developing long term energy strategies and working with the sustainability team to increase awareness of the need for energy conservation.
This is a graduate role.
The position holder will work to minimise whole of life costs while providing fit for purpose facilities that deliver the required health care services.
Safety is a core component of all design within the content of the role.
Specifically the position holder is responsible for :
Developing a long term strategy for sustainable energy management and utilisation which includes benchmarks for best practice, energy efficiency and sustainability assessments, investment criteria and key strategies for energy conservation.
Review energy use across CCDHB sites with the aim of reducing energy use and costs.
Appraise and advise on government funding and other schemes applicable to energy efficiency projects.
Provide assessment of greenhouse gas emissions from energy use and advise on impacts of new initiatives.
Skills & Experience
Proven knowledge of process / control / operation of energy management
High level knowledge of buildings, building services, industry and operational process
Proven ability and commitment to sustainability and environmental planning and strategy production
BE, Energy Processing Technologies, Engineering Sustainability Mechatronics or other relevant tertiary qualification is essential
Demonstrated track record in energy management or related discipline
