    We have an opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join our Justice, Security and Government Services team.

    Our work provides exposure to a wide range of issues and the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of government.

    Through its advice to the Minister of Finance and other Ministers, and its work with other agencies, our team seeks to help shape and influence policy across a broad range of areas, spanning the justice, defence, intelligence, government administration, and cultural sectors, as well as advising on Treaty of Waitangi settlements.

    The role provides opportunities to :

  • Input into the annual Budget process
  • Advise on policy, regulatory and investment proposals considered by Cabinet
  • Assist with value for money assessments of agencies, and
  • Input into sectorial strategic policy.
  • Due to the breadth of the subject areas our team works in, we have some ability to shape individual work programmes to take into account different preferences, experience levels, and career goals.

    About you

    You're a high performer who is keen to further your development and broaden your 5+ years of analytical experience. You'll also bring :

  • An ability to apply strong analytical, critical and strategic thinking skills to draw together diverse perspectives to get traction on ambiguous and / or complex issues leading to the provision of practical advice
  • Experience in public policy or financial analysis and a demonstrated ability to have impact
  • An ability to engage constructively with other organisations and influence policy thinking
  • Effective communication skills with experience conveying complex information clearly and succinctly to a range of audiences, including Ministers and Chief Executives
  • Motivation to grow and develop your skills
