What we do

The AdultCommunity Mental Health Service provides treatment for people aged 18-65 yearswho suffer from a wide range of mental disorders.

Join us in this part time(20hr per week) role and enjoy providing assessment and treatment interventionsfor outpatients of the Adult Community Mental Health Service.

Inthis part-time position, your time will be utilised to provide individual andgroup treatment within the MindSight Programme.

The MindSight Programme is aspecialist treatment service for consumers with a diagnosis of BorderlinePersonality Disorder.

The programme is an integrated component of CommunityMental Health services involving eight half-time clinicians who specialise indelivering Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT).

Thisposition will be based at Hillmorton Hospital. The days and hours required forthis position are flexible and will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The programme is an integratedcomponent of Community Mental Health services involving eight half-timeclinicians who specialise in delivering Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT).

About the role

This position will be based at Hillmorton Hospital. The daysand hours required for this position are flexible and will be negotiated withthe successful applicant.

  • You willdraw on your mental health background to deliver specialist assessment,treatment and support to clients and their families / whanau;
  • You will bean active participant in a multidisciplinary team, working closely withreferrers and colleagues from other agencies;
  • Thespecialist nature of the role affords opportunities for teaching, research andconsultative-input both within the wider organisation as well as regionally.
  • MindSight Programme staff include AFC-approved MBTsupervisors to provide ongoing supervision and support to maintain and developMBT practitioner skills, along with support for general professionaldevelopment through ongoing education.

    About you

    We are looking for a suitably qualified Mental HealthProfessional to fill this role. You must be a Registered Health Professional,with a current APC - Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker orClinical Psychologist keen to work within themental health sector, be eligible to live and work in New Zealand and hold acurrent New Zealand driver's licence.

  • Previousexperience in the Adult Mental Health field is preferred but other skillbackgrounds or experience will be given full consideration;
  • Experiencetreating Borderline Personality Disorder is desirable;
  • Training inMBT is desirable. If required, training in (MBT) will be provided;
  • Excellentinterpersonal skills with the ability to manage a busy caseload is vital tosuccess in this role;
  • Some travelmay be required in the role, a full NZ driver’s license is essential.
