Assist with maintenance of workshop tooling and machines, performing regular maintenance and checks. To be competent at operating machining tools, press brake, guillotine, drill press etc.

to shape metal and assist in fabrication.Qualifications : In New Zealand : - NZ Register Level 4 qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

In some instances, relevant experience and / or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification.

Tasks Include : studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations, and machine settingsfitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipmentchecking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instrumentssetting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and setting controls for textile machinesforming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore and drill metalcutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and linesdiagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipmentmay erect machines and equipment on-siteWorkshop tool servicing and repairFinal assembly fitments to vehiclesMechanical fitments and servicingPTO fitment if applicableForklift drivingCar / Ute driving for workshop deliveriesClass 2 truck driving would be an advantageWelding skills would be an advantage but not essentialDriving is involved in this role, be it in our work truck, ute or the forklift and assisting our engineers with on-time stock deliveries and supplier relationships.

  • Must have a 'can do', positive attitude.- Must have had exposure to and an understanding of Health & Safety and First Aid.
  • Have an excellent interpersonal manner, energy and personal drive.- Ability to prioritise and have excellent time management.
