The Cloudy Bay Shed is our newly opened Cellar Door situated in our Northburn Vineyard, just outside of Cromwell. This summer, in addition to our current wine & light bites offering we are excited to bring our successful garden restaurant concept, Jack’s Raw Bar, down in Central Otago.
After a successful first summer season carried by a dynamic team last year, we are seeking outgoing individuals with a positive and professional attitude, able to provide an unforgettable wine & food experience to our international customers.
We are looking for a self-driven and very enthusiastic staff taking part of a new adventure promoting an international brand.
This position requires integrity, passion for excellence in hospitality and customer service. Proactivity and team work ability are mandatory as you’ll be in charge for the daily operations of the Cellar Door & Jack’s Raw Bar within the hospitality team.
Our Cellar Door will be open seven days, so successful applicants will need to be available to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays from November through to April.
Some shorter contracts could also be available.
You will be responsible for :
Being an ambassador of the brand by hosting all visitors and sharing knowledge related to the brand DNA and its wines,
Delivering an outstanding level of customer service and experience :
Taking care of the food ordering with use of Point of Sales, servicing & following up with the guests, clearing plates & tables- Ensuring wine & wine tastings service & introduction
Ensuring day-to-day cellar door tasks : inside and outside areas setting up, , wine and merchandise sales & stock monitoring, end of day tidying and cleaning up,
Encouraging visitors loyalty through merchandising promotion,
Being proactive to improve the place efficiency by working closely with other team members,
Being able to host different types of publics and nationalities,
Keeping the place clean and tidy at all times, including indoor, outdoor and kitchen areas,
Being aware of the health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
In order to succeed in this position, you will have :
English essential, additional language is a plus
Relevant hospitality experience
A passion for Customer Service friendly and focused on continually exceeding customer expectations
A sales orientation - able to convert positive experiences into sales of Cloudy Bay wines, food and merchandise
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work cooperatively and positively in a team environment
A Can do’ attitude with a very good eye for details
A Good understanding of wine making and viticulture practices
You will be physically fit as the job involves standing and lifting
A Computer proficiency
The role is required from November 2019 until April 2020.
