The MidCentral District Health Board (MDHB) Sleep Service provides an integrated diagnostic and treatment sleep service for patients with obstructive sleep apnoea.
It is part of the MidCentral Health’s multidisciplinary Respiratory Service and the model of care includes both primary and secondary care.
It strives to provide innovative and high quality evidence based care. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with an interest in patient care and diagnostic testing to join this innovative service.
Working alongside the Clinical Sleep Physiologists, Sleep Clinical Nurse Specialist, and physicians, the trainee Sleep Physiologist is responsible for performing diagnostic testing under supervision within the hospital, and monitoring sleep patients in the community.
This is a training position working toward a sleep physiologist qualification.
You will have, or be working toward, a relevant health, biomedical or technical qualification - recent experience in clinical diagnostics and treatment would be beneficial but will be provided to a suitable applicant without that experience.
You will work as part of an established team of Physicians, Physiologists, Nurses and Administrative staff to provide expert diagnostic and treatment service to a diverse range of patients.
It is essential that you have a demonstrated ability and interest in working with people and medical technology.
