Our Modern Work and Digital team is rapidly growing and we are looking for a great Site Reliability Engineer to help us optimise the scalability and reliability of our systems hosted on the Microsoft Azure Platform.

The Role and Responsibilities

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) you strive to continually ensure and improve the quality and performance of engineering products.

You leverage your background as a developer to design, build and optimise systems to be scalable and reliable.

You will use your strong interpersonal skills to engage with various technical stakeholders across the business to understand the development and operational demands placed upon systems.

You will use this knowledge, working with teams to reimagine how we build, deploy, and operate our systems by helping them build efficient infrastructure, robust monitoring and automation with the goal to constantly improve quality.

The role includes :

  • Working with development teams to design cloud deployment architectures on Azure.
  • Assisting in building standardised continuous integration and deployment pipelines
  • Ensuring performance, security, scalability and supportability are built into our solutions
  • Ensuring that monitoring and alerting are in place from day one
  • Participating in the diagnosis of support issues to make practical recommendations for the improvement of reliability
  • Documenting system architecture and configuration / deployment processes and proactively sharing technical knowledge with support developers across multiple teams.
  • The Person

    We are looking for passionate people who are highly motivated and client focused. This role would suit someone with the following skills and experience :

  • 5+ years relevant working experience as a software developer
  • Experience with Cloud we are a Microsoft partner and operate on Azure exclusively
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Azure ARM, Azure Bicep, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet)
  • Designing and building CI / CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Circle CI)
  • Experience architecting and implementing Highly Available solutions on Cloud Platforms
  • Experience implementing monitoring and alerting (Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus)
  • Experience in implementing security best practices in Cloud-based environments
  • Experience developing and support management dashboarding for complex cloud-based solutions
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members in the practices of reliability engineering
  • Ability to deliver high-quality documentation
  • Azure and DevOps experience required
  • Azure and DevOps certifications advantageous
  • Technologies used : Azure, Azure DevOps, .NET, C#, ARM, PowerShell, Git
