Your Impact

The Billion Central Interceptor project is a wastewater tunnel that will run between the Māngere Wastewater Treatment Plant and Grey Lynn.

Along the route, it will connect to the existing wastewater network, which will divert sewage and stormwater flows into the tunnel to reduce overflows.

As a Site Inspector / Clerk of Works (Nights) you will provide support to the Lead Engineer and Site Engineer with the completion of site activities, documentation, resource management as well as tracking and identification of claims.

This site-based role shall be the primary point of contact for the Engineer to the Project and Watercare for Microtunneling operations during the night / shoulder shift.

The Site Inspector Clerk of Works (Nights) will be responsible for oversight of the Contractors Micro Tunnel Boring Machine (MTBM) and Underground operations, ensuring Contractor adherence to NZ Mining Regulations and key management plans.

  • You will provide essential oversight for the Contractor’s shoulder and night shift operations.
  • Key responsibilities will include :

  • Participate at site meetings and record detailed notes and / or minutes
  • Accurate documentation and filing of all project information
  • Provide night shift support for mTBM works
  • Review of incoming material certification records, ITPs and Checklists
  • Assist with the monitoring of works to ensure that they are carried out in line with all relevant designs, specifications, methodologies
  • Maintain site registers
  • Here's What You'll Need :

    To be successful in this role you should have :

  • 2-4 years experience working on civil infrastructure projects (previous underground work is desirable but not essential)
  • Site administration experience, including the compiling of ITP’s
  • Proficient in MS Office suite software
  • A positive and pro-active approach toward teamwork
  • Sound planning and organisational skills
  • Progressive thinking and robust project administration capabilities
  • Communication that is clear, concise and easily understood both in written and verbal form
  • Commitment to working shoulder and night shift work patterns (on a rotating roster).
