Based in South Auckland, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Continuous Water Monitoring Technician in a newly created role on a 12 month fixed term contract.

This role will have the potential to be extended or made permanent providing the venture is succesful during the contract term.

About the role :

You will be responsible for installing and operating sensor-based continuous water monitoring systems across NZ using on-

line measuring systems for our customers in the environmental sector and providing expertise in this area based on your experience of this technology.

Other duties include :

  • Scoping and defining of continuous water monitoring systems based on customer requirements.
  • Installation of fit for purpose multi-parameter sensors and associated telemetry systems to provide near real-time continuous measurements to our customers.
  • Undertaking effective routine calibration, maintenance, trouble-shooting and reporting of these systems.
  • Providing daily checking of data feeds and escalating exceedances to customers.
  • Development and documenting of methods and procedures for continuous water monitoring systems.
  • The successful candidate will have :

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science or Hydrology or a related field incorporating continuous water monitoring systems.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in installation and operation of continuous water monitoring systems.
  • Ideally, but not a necessity, experience within a commercial organisation performing installation and operation of these sytems.
  • A current NZ driver's license with the ability to drive a large manual 4WD
  • Computer literacy, with competency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Good customer interaction skills.
